Soju is...
We carry many different kinds of wines and spirits here at Dong Bang Grill. We would recommend any of the red wines
to go with your Galbi but if you want the true Galbi experience, ask your waitress for a bottle of any of the lines
of Soju’s we carry.
Soju is a Korean national alcoholic beverage mostly made from rice. Some Soju’s may even substitute rice with other
starches such as potato, wheat, barley, sweet potato, or even tapioca. Soju can be anywhere from 20% to 45% alcohol
content. Taste can be very similar to Vodka but a little sweeter do to the addition of sugar that is added during
the brewing process.
Soju 101 - How to drink Soju
It is against Korean drinking tradition to pour your own glass when enjoying any alcoholic beverage. That job is left
to someone else sitting at the table. This promotes a spirit of thoughtfulness and camaraderie. Using both hands while
pouring however, would show respect if that person with the empty glass happens to be your boss.So the next time you
see someone’s glass empty at your table, pick up the bottle and fill it up before they do!
